Wenika has substantial experience in senior care and does not treat younger clients. Her entire focus is on providing quality care to seniors, keeping up with relevant research and advocating for her clients.
As such, she knows about services or government-funded programs that can be accessed to help provide treatment to improve quality of life.
“I understand the funding inside and out, and can guide clients through the red tape,” she said. “This includes the federal home support program, home care packages and short-term restorative care packages.”
“I understand what rights people have when they are dealing with aged-care providers,” she said.

Medicare
Physiotherapy is covered by Medicare but it requires a referral from a GP. You may be eligible for up to 5 sessions per year.

Short Term Restorative Care Programme
Short-term restorative care aims to help improve wellbeing and independence, whilst delaying or avoiding the need to enter long-term care. Eligible participants receive a range of care and services, including home visit physiotherapy, for up to eight weeks.
